July 12, 2021 – Have you ever heard of or visited Jeju Island (a.k.a. “Island of the Gods”) located south of the S. Korean peninsula? I was fortunate to visit the subtropical Jeju Island with my grandma and uncle many years ago. Its humid, subtropical climate and fertile volcanic soil makes it an ideal enviroinment for vegetation such as aloe to flourish.
Fun Fact: Unlike the mainland, Jeju Island has a matriarchal society AND the WOMEN (not men) dive for seafood. These iconic women divers (haenyo) can hold their breath up to 3 minutes! When I asked a local islander about why the women dive for seafood, she responded, “Men are lazy!” Her words. Not mine. 🙂
Benefits of Jeju Aloe
Known for its medicinal properties, aloe moisturizes and softens the skin. It can also be used as a face mask or for after-sun care. Its formula immediately relieves irritated skin after sun exposure.
The Face Shop
Aloe vera is known for its antibacterial, antiviral, and antiseptic properties. This is part of why it may help heal wounds and treat skin problems.
