November 11, 2020 – It’s the dry season again, and my skin definitely knows it! The area around my nostrils, mouth and cheeks are dry, rough and red (they sting if I don’t moisturize). My lips are dry. My body gets dry and itchy. I’m going to explain how I combat dry skin. Note: I have sensitive, combination skin, so if you have sensitive skin, this blog post might be helpful!
Body

I wash and exfoliate my body with a loofah everyday. Therefore, I have to use a creamy, moisturizing body wash like Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing & Repair Body Wash. I like that this body wash is meant for extra-dry skin, is fragrance-free and hypoallergenic. It lathers nicely and is affordable. I don’t have to use a lot per wash.
After I shower and dry myself, I moisturize my body with the following awesome mixture:
- 2 drops of Skin So Soft Supreme Nourishment Triple-Phase Body Oil (shake the bottle before use to mix the 3 oils in the bottle)
- 2 pumps of Moisture Therapy Intensive Healing & Repair Body Lotion
I mix them in the palm of my hands, before applying the soothing mixture all over my body. This keeps my skin supple, extra hydrated and non-itchy beyond 24 hours. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue.
*When I don’t use the oil + lotion mixture, I’ll use Skin So Soft Original Bath Oil Spray. I spray my body in the shower so that the oil droplets don’t end up on my bathroom floor.
Face

Face – Morning Routine
In the morning, I cleanse my face with Anew Ultimate Cream Cleanser. This is not a foaming cleanser and does not strip away the oils on my skin. I apply it directly on dry skin (no water) and massage in circular motion, then I rinse with warm water. It leaves the skin soft and hydrated.
Afterwards, I moisturize with Dr. Belmeur Advanced Cica Hydro Cream which is meant for sensitive skin. It contains cica and hyaluronic acid. (Cica or Tiger Grass has been used in Eastern medicine for a long time, because of its healing qualities. It is called “Tiger Grass,” because tigers roll around in Cica to heal their wounds). This moisturizer leaves my skin supple, hydrated and soothes the dry, irritated parts of my face. Another product I use sometimes is the Green Goddess Facial Oil which conains CBD oil which also soothes dry, irritated skin.
Face – Night Routine
I have combination skin, so even though some parts of my face gets dry and irritated, other parts (forehead, nose and temples) can still breakout. At night, I cleanse with Dr. Belmeur Amino Clear Bubble Foaming Cleanser (non-drying facial cleanser for acne-prone skin) during my shower. I massage it on my face in circular motion for about a minute focusing on the oily parts of my face.
Afterwards, I apply a serum and night cream. I apply the Dr. Belmeur Cica Peptite Ampoule which contains cica and peptides. This concentrated serum protects, heals and soothes my skin. It helps strengthen my skin’s moisture barrier. When I open the bottle, the dropper automatically sucks up the right amount for one use. It leaves my skin feeling supple and soothed. Finally, I apply my Anew Skinvincible Deep Recovery Cream which is unscented, hypoallergenic, suitable for sensitive skin, non-greasy and non-comedogenic.
My entire routine keeps my skin happy.
