When my brother came back to California from visiting South Korea, he brought me a pack of face sheet masks. I didn’t know what the big deal was about these sheet masks, so I put them in my cabinet and forgot about them. I thought they were a gimmick.
What are face sheet masks?
Face sheet masks are semi-permeable fabric drenched in serum and with 3 holes for your eyes and nose. They are individually packaged in an airtight, heat-sealed package with extra serum so that mask stays juicy.
Finally Tried a Face Sheet Mask
The year is 2020 and the weather has been cool and dry (February), and Avon is now carrying face sheet masks from South Korea. My face was feeling a little dry, so I decided to finally use a sheet mask since they seem very hydrating.
The first Avon X The Face Shop sheet mask I used was the The Solution Pore Care Sheet Mask. I used it right before going to bed. I followed the instructions and tips in the following video:
I smoothed the extra serum from the package onto my décolleté and the back of my hands. The serum on my décolleté and hands dried within a minute, but the the mask kept my face hydrated with the serum for 10 minutes. The mask felt cooling, hydrating and soothing on my face. After I removed the mask, I let the serum on my face dry. I did NOT wash or wipe my face.
The Result
My face was left feeling hydrated, supple and glowing. The mask definitely made my face absorb more serum than the areas that had no sheet mask (my décolleté and the back of my hands). It was like a quick, simple in-home facial. The sebum in my nose pores were so hydrated or more liquified (instead of being more solid/hard) that squeezing my nose lightly made them sebum slip out of my pores. I went to bed after the serum dried on my face and did not wake up with skin irritation or acne breakouts. I’m really glad that I gave the sheet mask a try. I’m going to use it twice a week.
